ASB Gardens Magic Concert Series

Date: 14/03/2012 to 25/03/2012
Full Description:
You are probably already familiar with this massively-popular series of gigs at the Botanic Garden (sometimes referred to as the Wellington Botanical Gardens). And you also know about the wonderful music every night as the sun goes down and the colourful lighting comes on to capture the trees and mirror balls, and the bubbles flowing through the Soundshell. A great line-up of acts include The Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band, singer-songwriter Justin Firefly and Irish band The Shenanigans. There is no such thing as a typical Gardens Magic audience, the crowd composition can differ greatly from night to night, showing how broad the appeal is. This line-up often features many acts whose music is difficult to simply categorise, with gospel, country, jazz, funk, classical, blues, R&B, folk, rock, barbershop and more. There is a focus on original music as well as music representing the numerous cultures that contribute to Wellington ’s vibrancy and creativity.
