With the opening of Quest Apartment Hotels (NZ) latest two properties, Quest Mt Maunganui that opens on 12th June 2023 and Quest Hastings that opens on Monday, 26th June 2023, the independently owned and operated accommodation group continue to defy the economic challenges with the opening of these two new apartment hotels in the Bay of Plenty.

Adrian Turner, Chief Operating Officer, Quest Apartment Hotels (NZ), says that this growth has been planned for a while and these are two of three properties opening in 2023.

“Quest has worked incredibly hard to manage the relationships with our landlords, supporting local partners, and focusing on the needs of the corporate travel market. The opening of Quest Hastings and Quest Mt Maunganui will support all of our existing corporate clients as well as open up the opportunity for new clients to experience the Quest boutique apartment hotels.”

Both of these properties are a great example of meeting the needs of the market. The 36 and 41 apartment properties will include a mixture of studios, one and two-bedroom apartments to accommodate the short and extended stay corporate traveller as well as those visiting the two Bays’s just for a visit for the weekend.

“Our goal is always to have properties in the best location with access to the amenities that make a stay at a Quest easy and uncomplicated.”

Quest Mt Maunganui is located at 2 Rata Street, the new site is equidistant between the Mount itself and the Port of Tauranga, but just 1.4km away, and is in easy walking distance to the main shopping district. The property will be operated by Franchise Directors, Avelien & Tere Strickland. Avelien is no stranger to Quest having worked in the Quest Corporate Office for a number of years before re-locating to the Bay of Plenty in anticipation of taking on this opportunity.

Quest Hastings is located at 304 Eastbourne Street East, Hastings, the new site sits just behind Toitoi, the new Hawkes Bay Arts & Events Centre, is just over 3km from the hospital and just 300m from the library. In the heart of the city, Quest Hastings is perfectly located to serve anyone visiting the Hawkes Bay whatever the reason for travel. Scott & Sonia Bellingham will operate the new business. Scott has worked within Quest properties already both in Australia and New Zealand and is looking forward to taking on this challenge.

“After gaining valuable experience as a property manager with Quest in both Australia and New Zealand, I set my sights on becoming a franchisee. So when the chance to operate a brand new property in Hastings presented itself, I jumped at the opportunity. As a franchisee, I am excited to continue providing exceptional service to guests while also utilising my business skills to ensure the success of the property.”

Quest will also open its 3rd Christchurch property with the opening of Quest on Cambridge Terrace in November 2023.
